4th National Conference on Tobacco Or Health, 2019
The 4th National Conference on Tobacco or Health, held from February 8-10, 2019, at Tata Memorial Hospital, Mumbai, was organized by Salaam Bombay Foundation, Tata Memorial Hospital, Healis – Sekhsaria Institute for Public Health, and ACT India. The conference, themed ‘Tobacco Free Generation,’ aimed to sustain the momentum of tobacco control efforts and accelerate the implementation of new programs, policies, and amendments to counter the tobacco industry’s influence, particularly among youth.
Supported by the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Maharashtra Public Health Department, and international organizations like WHO, The Union, and Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids, the event brought together key stakeholders from government, non-government organizations, and the public health sector. The conference served as a vital platform for discussing urgent tobacco control issues and devising strategies to curb tobacco use in India.
