6th NCTOH
The 6th National Conference on Tobacco or Health, themed “Towards Tobacco-Free India – An Audacious Race Against Time,” was a pivotal event organized on February 16-18, 2024, at the India Habitat Centre, Lodhi Road, New Delhi by the International Institute of Health Management Research, Delhi along with Salaam Bombay Foundation, Vital Strategies, Project ECHO India, WISH Foundation, Real Foundation, and IAPSM as partners and supported by the World Health Organization. It served as an essential platform for stakeholders to discuss, deliberate, and design strategies for a tobacco-free India.
The 6th NCTOH was organized with the objective of advancing the goal of a tobacco-free environment. The primary aim was to facilitate comprehensive discussions on critical aspects of tobacco control, focusing on the burden of tobacco-related diseases, particularly among vulnerable populations. The conference sought to explore strategies for tobacco harm reduction and emphasize the importance of multisectoral coordination in tackling tobacco-related issues. By showcasing best practices from various States and offering a platform for professionals, researchers, and advocates to share their experiences, the conference aimed to enhance collective knowledge and action in tobacco control. Additionally, it provided a valuable opportunity for participants to engage with distinguished experts, both national and international, gaining crucial insights into the complexities of tobacco control.
